Gossip Girl fans everywhere love Nate Archibald. He's the nice guy who generally tries to do right by people which really stands out among his Upper East Side peers. Nate is usually the one to do the responsible thing when everyone else, namely Chuck and Blair, want to do the devious thing. Maybe it's exactly this diamond in the rough quality that makes fans love him so much. Ed initially auditioned for the part of good-boy Nate but wasn't given it because he looked too "menacing" , the role ultimately went to Chace and the rest is history.

He finds it in his heart to forgive her; however, Serena breaks up with him, saying that while she does love him, she needs a break from them.

When the series resumes, it's revealed Nate spent the summer sleeping through Chuck's little black book to get over Serena. He meets her outside her building and confesses that he still has feelings for her. He meets her again and finds out her name is Diana Payne ; and she offers him a job working at her newspaper The Spectator Beauty and the Feast. However, after working for awhile, Nate discovers that Diana plans to alienate Gossip Girl and become the number one media in the city The Jewel of Denial. The Celtics need you.
